Silver Award Achieved

Through hard-work and perseverance, Egglescliffe Church of England Primary School have achieved the unicef UK Rights Respecting Silver Award.

Miss Robinson, who led us on this journey said, “In September 2017,embarked on our Rights Respecting accreditation and by November we were able to celebrate our Recognition of Commitment. This award has enabled us to become more compassionate, selfless children who are critical thinkers. Throughout our school day, we learn about the rights of children and how global issues can affect our rights. With confidence, we can discuss topical matters whilst being able to give our opinions.”

Rose  & Henry

We were really pleased that we have been awarded the Unicef Rights Respecting Silver Award. Prior to receiving the award, we didn’t really know much about the rights of children and global issues. We have now made changes.  Our classes now have a class charter which we created together.

Worships, now focus on various topics about rights such as refugees and equality.

We have raised money for charity, holding numerous raffles, bake sales and other events. It feels really good to know we are making a difference.

Unicef is now a pivotal part of our school, and we hope to progress further by reaching the gold award.
