Y6 Crucial Crew Visit

Year 6 Oak Class visited Billingham Community Centre to attend Crucial Crew.

This event was hosted by our emergency services and led by the Police, Fire Fighters, Northern Power Grid and RNLI and Stockton Borough Council’s Road Safety Team, through interactive  workshops.

We learned about how to keep ourselves and others safe. We particularly enjoyed the Fire  Brigade scenario as they acted out and let us join in. However, we had to remember there was a serious message about the dangers of hoax calls. We were surprised to find out…

  • Children aged 10 can be arrested!
  • How 50 volts of  electricity is enough to seriously injure you and could even be fatal.

We were reminded that our digital footprint can never be erased so we talked about being responsible online as the evidence never goes away!

It made us think about the consequences of our actions and what to do if we ever find ourselves at risk.
