The children's contribution to the final...

MALCom - an astronaut's friend, guardian and resource during their mission to Mars.

MALCom is the Mars Automated Life Companion and has been designed as an assistant to astronauts on the first mission to Mars.

The journey to Mars will be long and arduous; it will have effects on the astronauts’ bodies never before experienced by humans.

Using 4 modules (Tests, Games, Exercise and Environment) MALCom is designed to measure and keep track of an astronaut’s mental and physical fitness before and during the 7 month journey.  Taking inspiration from real life equipment used on the International Space Station, the code for these modules was developed through Scratch and utilises several external devices.
