 Tees Barrage Visit

Year 5 enjoyed their visit to Tees Barrage in Stockton...

"It was a great experience.  We learnt the difference between a barrage and a bridge and created mini bridges (using: card, pebbles and two plastic cups), to see which type of bridge would hold the most weight.

We also learnt about where the Tees Barrage leads up to and we plotted its course from the source, which was Cross Fell, to its mouth, the North  Sea. We where taken into the control room, were the manager showed us around, best of all we got to press lots of buttons!

After lunch, we used sand and wooden objects to see what the river tees was like in the modern times".
