Motivational Speech - Richard Kilty

25th June 2018

(also known as the Teesside Tornado!)

Richard Kilty is a British track and field sprinter who competes in the 60 metres, 100 metres and 200 metres. His personal bests for the events are 6.49 seconds, 10.01 seconds and 20.34 seconds, respectively.

Mr Kilty came to school to give an inspirational talk to the children.

He talked to the children about determination, courage and  hard work.  These represent our school values.

The children were shown a power point of some of his races and then had the opportunity to ask        questions.  Tia asked  “When you have to stop running and you hit the buffer pads, does it hurt?”

He was asked by Ella, “How do you make sure you get a good start in a race” .
