Stockton school children from across the Borough have voted for their  favourite book in the 22nd Stockton Children’s Book of the Year competition, run by Stockton  Borough  Libraries. More than 600 children from local primary,  secondary and academy schools read their way through a series of shortlisted books before voting for their favourite in a secret ballot.

The winning author was Tom Nicoll with his book Boyband of the Apocalypse which tells the story of Sam, a boy who overhears a member of a boyband plotting to destroy all of humanity. Can Sam discover his hidden talents, infiltrate the world's most evil boyband and foil their fiendish plan?

Tom wasn’t the only award winner! ... The winner for the Best Book review went to Lily (Y6).
